Wellington
The City Art Gallery in Wellington had some great video works, documentary-style, including one about the transit of Venus across the sun and how attempting to measure it helped motion picture technology develop. What was particularly interesting was that it talked extensively about Captain Cook's attempt to measure this rare event on Tahiti, at "Venus Point" where I had visited just a couple of weeks before.

"This Rugged Beauty" was an experimental theatre piece at BATS theatre, by the bingeculture.co.nz group. An intriguing take on NZ culture.
