Glimpses (Jimmy Page / Jim McCarty / Keith Relf / Chris Dreja)

There are two regularly quoted versions of the spoken section on this track. The first is basically the same as the version quoted by Greg Russo; I have heard the second from a number of sources, and it's not without foundation.

Possible version 1

Glimpses of clouds in a forest,
Can review well within us,
And to never linger on one is life,
Energy radiates from the source,
The life around us is but a reflection of our own,
Flowing within never-ending boundless infinity,
Time is just a cumular limit,
Which with one glimpse can overcome,
Can overcome,
Can overcome,
Can overcome,
Can overcome,
Can overcome,
Can overcome.

Transcriber's note: I have always heard 'will overcome' instead of 'can overcome'. I've now changed it to 'can' as many people hear this - but personally, I still disagree...!

Possible version 2

Glimpses of Clouds in the forest is energy from within,
And to never linger on one, is life.
Energy radiates from the soul.
The life around us is but a reflection of our own,
Flowing within, the never-ending, boundless infinity.
Time is just a cumular image, just one glimpse of an overtone.

dc sent me this version of the lyrics, and Keith Relf apparently told him them directly, after an Armageddon show in around 1975 at Starwoods Club.
